Graduations

Peter Otoshi
graduated from Maranatha High School in Pasadena with highest honors and plans to attend Biola University, studying mechanical engineering. He’s the son of John Otoshi, Retired, LADWP.

Melissa Rainbird
graduated from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, with a Bachelor’s degree in business marketing. She is returning to California to pursue a career in business. She’s the daughter of William Rainbird, Retired, LADWP.

Vanessa Casas
graduated from California Baptist University with a Master’s degree in forensic psychology. She plans to serve those with mental health disorders within the criminal justice system. She’s the daughter of Teresa Casas, Retired, LAPD.

Ariel Alaryu
graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, and plans to continue toward earning a Master’s degree in nursing. He’s the son of Riza Mulawin, Fire and Police Pensions, and Angelo Alayu, LAFD.

Everet Fink graduated from the College of the Canyons with an Associate’s degree in administration of justice, cum laude. He plans to pursue a criminology and justice degree at Cal State Northridge. He’s the son of Ross Fink, LADWP.

Marina Castaneda graduated from the University of La Verne. “Thank you to my family and friends for your support,” she writes. “To my kids, you will always be my inspiration.” She’s a Benefits Analyst, LACERS.
