Graduations

Maya Horvath
graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, plant and soil science. She is now working in her professional career of agriculture. Maya is the daughter of Robert Horvath, Retired, Public Works/Sanitation and Environment.



Everet Emerson Fink
graduated from Cal State Northridge with a Bachelor’s degree in criminology and justice studies, graduating magna cum laude. He plans to pursue a career as a special agent for the FBI. Everet is the son of Ross Fink, Retired, LADWP.



Blessing Williams
graduated from Robert E. Peary Middle School in Gardena. She plans to attend Narbonne High School’s STEAM magnet program in the fall and continue her basketball career. She’s the daughter of Kay Davis, LAPD.

 



Jonah Cisneros
graduated cum laude from St. Francis High School in La Cañada. He plans to attend the University of San Diego to pursue a degree in creative writing. He also plans to play football at USD. Jonah is the grandson of Rito Cisneros, ITA.



Fernando Navarrete
graduated from Cal State Dominguez Hills and plans to “continue to serve the residents of Los Angeles and provide equitable transportation services.” Fernando is the Council Liaison for LADOT.



Paul Bingaman Jr.
graduated from Harvard University in Massachusetts, double-majoring in philosophy and business finance. He plans to study for a Master’s degree at Cambridge University in England, and has a job waiting for him at Morgan Stanley. He’s the son of Paul Bingaman, Public Works/Street Services.

 



Claudia Serrato
graduated from the University of Washington and plans to earn her doctorate and continue to teach at the university level. Also, she enjoys presenting indigenous food ways workshops. Claudia is the daughter of Rose Serrato, LAPD.



Emily Bastris Orellana Mejia
graduated from La Serna High School in Whittier and plans to attend college studying forensic science. “She has a bright future,” says stepdad Guillermo Barragan, Public Works/Engineering.



Daniel Barragan
graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor’s degree in science in landscape architecture. He’s already started his professional career working for a landscaping firm. Daniel is the son of Guillermo Barragan, a landscape architect with Public Works/Engineering.



Ailaine Rosales  
Ailaine Rosales graduated from Legacy High School in South Gate. As for her future plans: “Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.” She’s the daughter of Samuel Bacon, General Services.
