Airports/LAPD: On Oct. 25, members of the Regional Illegal Firearms Trafficking Team, consisting of Airport Police and the LAPD – were honored with a Centurion Award from the Peace Officers Association of Los Angeles County (POALAC).

Those honored – Airport Police Det. Edna Moreno with Dets. Kevin Currie, Darin Day and Patrick Hoffman and Lt. Eric Bixler from the LAPD – executed a search warrant that resulted in felony arrests and hundreds of firearms removed from the streets. The investigation involved firearms being illegally trafficked out of LAX.

Other participants in the investigation and search warrant execution included the Torrance PD and the Gardena PD.

The award for multi-agency investigations was one of a number given out at a POALAC ceremony.
