St. Baldrick’s fundraiser returned March 29

Abuzz With Purpose

On March 29, the LAFD and LAPD united for the 22nd annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser to fight childhood cancer. The event was once again held at the Vineyards at Porter Ranch. The event, running from 9 a.m. to noon, featured a pancake and sausage breakfast, live music, family-friendly activities, and the signature head-shaving ceremony, all aimed at raising funds for childhood cancer research.

Firefighters, Police Officers and community members shaved their heads in solidarity with children battling cancer. As of the event date, more than $25,000 had been raised toward the $50,000 goal, with top individual fundraisers like Club Board Member, LAFD Capt. Danny Wu, leading the charge. Organized by Capt. Wu and LAPD Det. Nick Sinclair, the event has become a cherished tradition, uniting first responders and the community in the fight against childhood cancer.

The local event is part of a nationwide St. Baldrick’s Foundation event. Organizers say they have raised more than $1 million locally over the previous two decades.
