Orange-Picking Time

From Alive! September 2018: Club Association President John Hawkins (right) and Robert Baker, now Retired, Park Maintenance Supervisor at Orcutt Ranch, look at the orange trees in the Orcutt grove.

Orange picking returns in July to Rec and Parks’ Orcutt Ranch in West Hills.

The program invites the public to pick oranges from the groves at Orcutt Ranch on select weekends.

The next event is set for 7 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. July 8-9 at Orcutt Ranch, 23600 Roscoe Blvd., West Hills.

The event is do-it-yourself. Fruit can be picked for $4 per average reusable bag or $5 for a medium fruit box. Pickers must bring their own containers. Tree climbing and ladders are prohibited.
