Ohaji Abdallah: Engineer of the Year

Engineering’s Ohaji Abdallah is honored.

Ohaji Abdallah, Nov. 2011

Ohaji Abdallah, Architecture Associate IV/ Project Manager I, in Public Works/Engineering’s Architecture Division, was named the 2021 recipient of Engineering’s Rory M. Shaw Outstanding Employee Award.

He was presented the award during a Board of Public Works meeting in March.

Each year, Engineering gives out the award to honor Rory M. Shaw, who died on duty in the storms of 2005, and to recognize the dedication and excellence in leadership exemplified by Shaw during his 14 years with Engineering.

Ohaji has worked with Engineering since 2001 and has led multiple, significant projects, such as the $50 million Rancho Cienega Sports Complex, the $20 million Pacoima Neighborhood City Hall, $15 million Central Avenue Neighborhood City Hall, and the $3.6 million Estelle Van Meter Multipurpose Center.

Ohaji graduated from Prairie View A&M University in Texas with a degree in architecture.

Congratulations, Ohaji, from the Club!
