Officer Todd Retires
A reception was held July 1 at Newton Division for the retirement of Officer III Todd Patino, who retired after 30 years of City service.

“From the academy class of 1995 to the streets of Newton Division, Police Officer III Todd Patino has lived a career defined by dedication, leadership, and relentless commitment to the mission,” the division posted.
He began his journey at Rampart Division, later transferring to Van Nuys, then returning to Rampart where he worked elite assignments in CRASH and Homicide. Eventually, he found his way to Newton, where he brought that same drive and experience to Newton Gang Detectives—helping lead the fight against violent crime with insight, tenacity, and street smarts.
He was named LAPD Officer of the Quarter in July 2024.
“Beyond the badge, Todd left his mark on the field—he was inducted into the LAPD Softball Hall of Fame in 2013, a testament to the bonds forged through teamwork, competition and camaraderie.
“Officer Patino’s story is one of grit, growth and giving back—to the department, to his partners, and to the communities he’s served with honor.”
Congratulations, Officer Patino, on your outstanding career. The Club honors and celebrates you for your dedication
