by Robert Larios, CEO, The Club
It’s time to celebrate…You!
And honor and thank you, too. It’s why the Club exists.
Welcome to our Benefits Issue – a periodic reminder of the hard work our Club staff performs to elevate your lives through special services, discounts, private parties (we love arranging those), sports and so much more. We respect what you do and care about helping you afford a great life for you and your families.
The Club offers so much more than just ticket discounts, although of course we do that, too. We offer a relationship of gratitude, honor and celebration for your career. We are bonded with public service and those who perform it.
This issue charts our relatively newest and most innovative benefits. We are always developing new programs to serve you. Remember, funding through your memberships helps us build these discounts; more Club Members means more offerings. (Make sure you encourage your City friends who are non-Members to join. It’s the best thing they will do all year.)
Enjoy your Club benefits. You’ve earned them.
Retirements
I congratulate Chuck Beas, Water Operations, LADWP, who retired after 31 years of City service. When Alive! featured movie reviews written by Club Members, Chuck frequently contributed. We liked his style! Thanks, Chuck, for making Alive! entertaining and strong.
I congratulate Will Caperton y Montoya, Development and Marketing Director, Cultural Affairs, who Retired after 21 years. Will helped us on several strong stories we produced from Cultural Affairs, including our peeks at the Warner Theatre in San Pedro, and the about-to-reopen Vision Theatre in South LA. We hope you come back to see it next year. Thanks, Will!
Worth Considering
Which mindset supercharges your soul—bitterness or gratitude? Let’s be real: One of these is like a superfood smoothie for the soul, while the other is just plain junk food. Dodge the toxic crowd, Champ – because your peace is priceless.
Finally, I offer a reminder: Let the Club take care of you and your family, and make your lives more affordable, in recognition of your hard work, dedication and service to all in LA. It’s the least we can do.
Enjoy your Fall.
