Jaime Is Aging’s GM
On July 5, Jaime H. Pacheco-Orozco became General Manager of the Dept. of Aging. He was appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti and replaced Interim General Manager Mariella Freire-Reyes.
Jaime H. Pacheco-Orozco has served the City for more than 20 years, the last three as Assistant Executive Director of the Dept. of Disability. Previously, he served as the Division Chief of the City’s Workforce Development System through which he developed tools and programs to better serve older working adults, adults and youths with disabilities, and English language learners, among other demographics.
As General Manager of Aging, Pacheco-Orozco oversees all programs and services managed by the department, including senior meals and older adult-working programs.
“I am excited and honored by this opportunity,” Jaime said. “I believe every Angeleno whether old, young, or with a disability, deserves equal opportunity to grow professionally and personally. Through this role, I will put City resources to work to ensure no one, despite of age, gets left behind. I look forward to continuing to work for this great City of Angels.”
Congratulations, Jaime!
