Coinciding with TV’s week of sharks, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium presents its own Shark Week from 2 to 5 p.m. July 14-19. Shark Week features special shark crafts and activities each day.

The Exploration Center invites kids of all ages to participate in an exciting shark egg case craft that they can take home. Plus, learn why sharks are so important for our marine ecosystem and how we can help protect them from extinction.

The Marine Research Library at the Aquarium will have special shark videos, Shark Week books, and exciting shark word searches and puzzles to solve.

Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Collections will also have a shark specimen display, featuring real shark egg cases, sharkskin and shark jaws.

Other daily activities in the past have included a Shark Week fact scavenger hunt, special Shark Week photo opportunities and a special Shark Week auditorium presentation about the different sharks that live in our oceans and how humans are impacting their populations and environments.

Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is at 3720 Stephen M. White Dr. in San Pedro on the shores of Cabrillo Beach and is a Rec and Parks facility with support from Friends of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Public hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed Mondays.
