Friends of Banning Museum plans to celebrate the birthday of the “Father of the Los Angeles Port” Phineas Banning with a special evening of Mexican food, music and dancing.
The evening is set for Aug. 17, 5 – 8 p.m.
Guests will be treated to Mexican fare provided by local favorite Monarca’s Restaurant, with live music provided by Mariachi Ambiente and Wilmington’s own Folklorico troupe, Las Perditas.

There are two levels of participation: The “picnic” option costs $10 for general admission, (free for Friends of Banning Museum members). With this option, guests bring their own dinner and beverage and a blanket/low chair to enjoy the concert.
The higher level – “VIP” – costs $45 and includes full meal with dessert, reserved seating and on-site parking. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine or beverage.
Reservations required for all guests.
The Banning Museum is at 401 East M St., in Wilmington. For more information or to reserve your ticket, call (310) 548-2005.
The Banning Museum, a facility of Rec and Parks, is operated in cooperation with Friends of Banning Museum, a nonprofit corporation.
