The Banning Museum’s chief fundraiser, the Wisteria Regale, returns after the pandemic with a gala evening scheduled for 5-9 p.m. March 25 at the museum, 401 East M St., Wilmington.
The theme for this year’s event is “The Time Machine.” Guests are invited to dress in Victorian period or Steampunk-inspired attire.
The event will feature a silent auction, a delicious dinner, hosted bar, entertainment by Big Lucky Band, and the Banning High School Scholarship presentation.
“We are so excited that we can once again host Wisteria Regale in person,” said Julia Banning, President of the Friends of Banning Museum and a direct descendant of Phineas Banning. “It is an opportunity for supporters of the museum and local history lovers to sort of step back in time by attending the event.”
The Banning Museum, also known as the Banning House or Banning Mansion, is a historic Greek Revival-Victorian home in Wilmington. It was built in 1864 by Phineas Banning, “Father of the Port of Los Angeles,” and entrepreneur and founder of the City of Wilmington.
Tickets to the Wisteria Regale are available at thebanningmuseum.org.
