2 Brians Appointed
The Dept. of Transportation recently appointed two new chiefs – Brian Hale as Chief of Parking Enforcement and Traffic Control; and Brian Lee as Chief of Transit (emergency appointment).
Brian Hale has six years of service with LADOT, initially joining the department as Deputy Chief of the Parking Enforcement and Traffic Control Division. In early 2017, Brian was appointed Chief and served in this capacity until he left City employment in 2018. In December 2020, Brian accepted an offer to return as Interim Chief. Chief Brian Hale has a diverse law enforcement background that spans more than 30 years.
Brian Lee is a graduate of the University of California Irvine with a Bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and has a Professional Engineering License from the State of California in traffic engineering. Brian has spent 21 years working for LADOT, starting his career with the ATSAC Design team. In this role as the Chief of Transit, Brian will manage the second-largest transit agency in Los Angeles County. His responsibilities will include a large portfolio that includes assessing the City’s transit service post-pandemic; coordination of LADOT’s services with Metro and other transit agencies; preparing for the 2028 Olympics, and more.
Congratulations to Brian Hale and Brian Lee on their new appointments!
