Earthy Fun
On Sat., April 22, Public Works/Sanitation and Environment held its sixth annual Citywide Earth Day LA event at the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant in Playa del Rey.
Attractions included City vehicles for kids to explore, games to play, prizes to win, sustainability workshops, plant giveaways, 50 exhibitors, customer service, and fun for all ages. Free beverages and snacks were available. All exhibits were related to City services and sustainability.
Here are two images of the fun!
Joseph’s First Earth Day
Trash truck friend Joseph Cornejo had fun attending his first Earth Day!
As we’ve chronicled in Alive!, Joseph loves trash trucks, and has made a great friendship with Chermaine Fontenette, Sanitation Refuse Collection Truck Operator and Club Ambassador. (See the March and April issues of Alive! online to get the full story.)
“We went to Sanitation’s Earth Day,” reports Joseph’s mom, Sara Panameno. “It was so fun and good! We met up with Chermaine and Councilwoman Traci Park. We can’t wait for the May 6 open house!”
