Goodbye, Greg
Greg Spotts, formerly the City’s Chief Sustainability Officer and Executive Officer of Public Works/Street Services, has headed to Seattle.
On July 27, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell appointed Spotts as the next director of the Seattle Dept. of Transportation.
“We wish Greg well,” said Club CEO Robert Larios. “City employees are of great value and are in demand all over the country!”
Spotts currently was the Executive Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer at Public Works/Street Services, which oversees 1,500 staff positions, an annual budget of $230 million, and a capital program of more than $350 million. He led the delivery of more than $600 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects as well as efforts to make Los Angeles more walkable, bikeable, transit-friendly and sustainable.
Spotts began his tenure in Seattle in early September as acting director until Council confirmation.
Congratulations, Greg, on your new appointment. The City will miss you!
