Sr. PSR Todd Austin passes away after 23 years of City service.

Todd Austin, Sr. PSR II and police communications instructor and innovator, passed away May 2 after a long illness. He was on active duty as a police dispatch supervisor.

He began serving the City in 1999. During his time, he trained employees, managed floor operations as a supervisor, and became Officer-in-Charge of the Training Unit and the Operations Support Unit. He spearheaded many projects, including a major cut-over of the Computer Aided Dispatch system as well as the call-taking system. He also introduced Text-to-911 to the City in December 2017.
