Juliette McAllister, Administrative Clerk, Rec and Parks at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, retired June 22 with a celebration at Taxco’s Mexican Restaurant in Ranch Palos Verdes.
Juliette retires with 16 years of City service.
At her retirement party, Juliette was presented a certificate from Councilman Joe Buscaino, and several of her coworkers spoke in praise of her.
Juliette began her career with the City in the Library Dept. in 2002. In 2004 was she was promoted to Rec and Parks and has been a valuable member of the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Administrative staff ever since.
Juliette is a team player. She has always been self-motivated and takes initiative to make Cabrillo Marine Aquarium a friendly and accessible work place. She is like our mother hen. She keeps everyone in check. Juliette is extremely organized and goes above and beyond in every assignment she has ever tackled. Cabrillo Marine Aquarium may go to seed after Juliette leaves!
She has made sure on numerous occasions that the Aquarium doesn’t burn down due to coffee pots being left on at the end of the workday. She has handled all of the Aquarium’s press release mailings and has done so much to promote our many special events, lectures and science classes. She has established a rapport with local newspapers, the Chamber of Commerce and the Employees Club of California of Los Angeles. She has really put the Aquarium on the map with many newspapers and publications, and she has managed to make these inroads through her natural warmth and charm. Everyone from the mail carriers, UPS drivers, to the lead LAPD Officer for San Pedro, to the City and County Lifeguards, the parking lot manager, the San Pedro Booster Club, the San Pedro Polar Bears, … and the hundreds of CMA volunteers hold Juliette in the highest of
regard. Her retirement will definitely leave a void that will be hard to fill, but her CMA family wishes her only happiness for this well deserved next chapter of her life.
Juliette looks forward to spending more time with her family and travel.
The Club sends its most appreciate thanks to Juliette for helping Alive! arrange many stories at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, and for her many years of assistance to us. Congratulations on a great career, and we wish her all the best.
