Graduations

Jaqueline B. Gomez
graduated from Bishop Amat High School in La Puente this May, and plans to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas this fall, majoring in nursing. She’s the granddaughter of Irma Vega, Retired, Library.



 

Nicholas Burton
graduates from Costa Mesa High School this spring and plans to play football for Whittier College in the fall. He’s the son of Anna Burton, Harbor.



 

Yadira Enciso
earned her Master’s degree in higher education from Loyola Marymount University and plans on a career as a higher education professional, “sharing joy and helping students in their personal and professional goals.” She’s the daughter of Jorge Enciso, Finance.



 

Christopher Enciso
graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a degree in business marketing. He plans to pursue a career in marketing and be “so completely myself that everyone around me feels safe to be themselves, too.” He’s the son of Jorge Enciso, Finance.



 

Hydiah Hill
graduated from Palmdale High School and plans to attend Xavier University in New Orleans in the fall, majoring in pre-med psychology. She hopes to pursue a career in psychiatry. She’s the daughter of Aarona Hawes, Transportation.



 

 

Jake Benjamin Hibma
graduated from Cal State Chico with a Bachelor’s degree in science, majoring in mechanical engineering. He’s the son of Firefighter Dan Hibma, LAFD.



 

Sydney Hernandez graduated from City of Angels Independent Study School and plans to study at Los Angeles Valley College in the fall, eventually transferring to Cal State LA. Sydney wants to be a Firefighter/Paramedic. Sydney is the child of Eduardo Hernandez, Rec and Parks.



 

Sydnee Blueford
graduated from Daniel Pearl Communications/Journalism Magnet School in Lake Balboa. She plans to attend Santa Monica College in the fall before transferring to a four-year university, majoring in animation and screenwriting. She’s the daughter of Janice Shelton, Airports.



 

Madison and Mallory Fink,
twins, graduated from Saugus High School with honors. They plan to attend College of the Canyons and earn their Associates degrees. They are daughters of Ross Fink, DWP.



 

Christine Camson
graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in animal science. She plans to attend Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall. She’s the daughter of Elvira Camson, DWP.



 

Caroline Rivera
graduated from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School and plans to attend UC Irvine in the fall. She’s the daughter of Richard Rivera, DWP.



 

Fashion Castillo
graduated from Oxford Academy in Cypress and plans to attend Biola University in the fall, majoring in public relations. She hopes to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She’s the daughter of Firefighter Erik San Martin, LAFD.



 

David Lainez
graduated from Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino and plans to attend St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga in the fall, majoring in accounting. He’s the son of Ruby Lainez, Housing.
