Anna Sklar, a longtime public relations writer for several City departments for more than 10 years; a published author; a public radio correspondent; editor of the Los Angeles Historical Society newsletter; contributor to periodicals throughout the country; a letter-writer to Alive!; author of Brown Acres: An Intimate History of the L.A. Sewers, 1860-2008, reviewed in Alive!; among many other credentials; died in February. She was 88.
A funeral service was held Feb. 27 in Mill Valley, California.
Anna, born in the Bronx, New York City, was also at times a professional dancer, a college instructor of history and broadcast journalism, a union organizer and other pursuits. She was known for her strong advocacy for truth and justice
