You’ve worked so hard your entire career. Retirement is an amazing achievement and a time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. It’s a time to relax, reflect, and celebrate all that you’ve accomplished. You deserve it!

As a Club Member, we want to recognize and acknowledge the hard work and dedication you put in each day to make our city and state a better place to live and work.

If you plan to retire in the next three months, take part in the Club’s Retirement Ceremony where you’ll be presented with a customized Club Retirement Plaque as we pay tribute to your career. We will also feature you in the Alive! Newspaper and website.

ELIGIBILITY AND RULES

Requirements

  • A plaque recipient must be a member of the Employees Club of California in good standing with at least five years of consecutive Club Membership.
  • A plaque recipient must be a Club Member retiring from Los Angeles City, LADWP or California State employment within the next three months, or is already Retired.
  • A plaque recipient agrees to have their picture taken for publication in Alive! and online (including social media).
  • It is at the Club’s discretion whether or not to award a Club Retirement Plaque.

Receiving Your Plaque

  • In person: Club Retirement Plaques are distributed in person at a beautiful ceremony approximately once or twice every quarter. The location and times vary. Your family, friends and former coworkers are invited to attend.
  • By mail: If you are unable to attend in person, the Club will arrange to ship your plaque to you anywhere in the free world.
  • In limited situations the Club might be able to present your Club Retirement Plaque in person at a City-managed or private retirement party. This must be arranged in advance. Contact the Club Employee Recognition Team for more information.
  • Club Retirement Plaques feature the highest-quality construction. Therefore, please plan on at least six weeks after approval for your plaque to be ready for distribution or shipping.

Cost

  • Receiving the Club Retirement Plaque is free of charge to you, with the Club’s deepest gratitude for your career of dedicated service.
