Thank You, Robyn
Longtime Club Board Member Robyn Wilder retired from Fire and Police Pensions after 30 years of City service.
A Fire and Police Pensions board presentation in her honor was held April 17, and a farewell reception was held at the Arts District Brewery April 25.
She served on the Club Board for more than 25 years, beginning her tenure during the time the association was known as the Los Angeles City Employees Association (LACEA), and continuing after it was rebranded to the Club.
Robyn started her career with the Retirement Office at the DWP, then transferred to Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions in 2001 as the Communications and Special Projects Manager.
There she became Chief Benefits Analyst and was responsible for the Active Member Services, Communications and Education, and DROP/Service Pensions sections of the Pensions Division. The Pensions Division processes all applications for retirement benefits, including service, disability, surviving spouse and dependent minors and parents.
Robyn received her Bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from Smith College in Northampton, Mass. in 1986. She received the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) in December 2005. She completed the Pension Funds and Money Management program at the Wharton School as well as the IFEBP’s Essentials of Public Sector Benefits Administration program.
On April 17, at her last City board meeting, Robyn received Fire and Police Pensions’ Distinguished Service Medal. Separately she also received recognition from the LAPD Police Protective League, and she was presented with the Employees Club Retirement Recognition Award from the Club.
The Club cannot thank Robyn enough for her many years of working toward the betterment of the lives of City Employees through her participation in the Club Board. And the Club wishes Robyn a great retirement.
