R.I.P, Carolyn

by John Hawkins,
President and CEO, The Club

I was saddened to hear the news of the recent death of Retired Sr. Librarian Carolyn Kozo Cole, who was in charge of the Library’s amazing photo collection.

Carolyn was a giant help to us at the Club when we started Alive!, and then she continued her support as Alive! grew and our photo needs did, too. Carolyn was especially important in helping us secure photos for our monthly history columns by Hynda Rudd, plus other stories, too. Carolyn was great to work with, and we were in her debt.

During her two decades running the photo archive, she established Photo Friends, launched Shades of LA, and started the Photographer’s Eye lecture series.

Carolyn, thanks for your service to Los Angeles and to us. Rest in peace.
