Meet RLACEI’S newest Board Member, Nancy Hammoudian. Nancy was installed at the RLACEI general membership meeting, held April 14 at Grace E. Simons Lodge.
Nancy began her City career with Recreation and Parks at the LA Zoo as an Accounting Clerk in 1983 and retired in 1995. She was promoted as an Accounting Records Supervisor to Building and Safety in West LA and Van Nuys, and worked downtown as needed.
Nancy has been married to her husband, Vrej, for 40 years. They have two daughters, Sirelle and Rakelle. Sirelle is married to husband Brett Kendall.
During retirement, Nancy has taken up several hobbies, including home wine making with her husband, using wine grapes from her backyard and from friends. She is also a newsletter editor for a home wine maker club, Cellarmasters LA. Other hobbies include gardening, traveling for wine tasting and visiting vineyards.
Nancy is also a bible study co-leader and a district representative and adviser for the national organization Daughters of Vartan.
She joined the RLACEI Board to help protect Retiree benefits and enthusiastic that RLACEI brings Retirees together for various events. Nancy says, “Although I’ve been retired for quite a few years, I have remained friends with several of my City co-workers.”
Nancy is passionate about helping and serving others. She loves to bring family together by opening her home to family and friends for social gatherings.
