Graduations

 

Red and Lupe: Proud Grandparents

Club Members Red and Lupe Medina announced the graduations of grandchildren Hannah Franco and Emma Franco. Hannah and Emma are the granddaughters of Red Medina, Construction Inspector, Public Works/Contract Administration, Retired in 2020, and Lupe Medina, longtime Club staff member, Retired several years ago, and the daughters of Kerry Franco and Oscar Franco, Construction Inspector, Public Works/Contract Administration, 5 years of City service.

Hannah Jacqueline Franco earned a bachelor’s degree from the USC Price School of Public Policy and is pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at USC.
Emma Irene Franco graduated from Mayfield Senior School in Pasadena and plans to attend the University of Washington in the fall to study engineering. Emma was JV Swim Captain, head of Latinas Unidas, and an aspiring engineer and photographer.

Congratulations to Hannah, Emma, Oscar and Kerry, and Red and Lupe! The Club wishes Hannah and Emma all the success in the world.



 

Kennedye Davis
graduated from Grand Canyon University in Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in nutritional science. Her future plans include working with professional teams preparing the dietary menus and opening her own business. She’s the daughter of Darlene Fuller, Security Officer, Airports.



 

Breann Newsome
graduated from the University of California Davis and plans to attend UCLA Medical School. She’s the granddaughter of Sgt. Brian Johnson, Retired, Airport Police.

Moises Garcia

Moises Garcia graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in theater directing and arts management. He’s enrolled in the university’s master’s degree program and expects to graduate in May 2023. Moises graduated with honors.

He’s the son of Leonor Garcia, LADWP, 34 years of City service.

 



 

Alejandro Matamoros
graduated from the University of California Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He plans to pursue software engineering and development in his career. Alejandro is the son of Veronica De La Cruz, Public Works/Sanitation and Environment.
