Making an Appointment Is Best Way to Visit LACERS

LACERS uses an appointment-based system for all members who need in-person assistance. There are two options for appointments: in person, at our headquarters, and virtually, via Zoom. These options allow for timely and convenient access to get your questions answered. Visit lacers.org/contact-us to make an appointment online or call (800) 779-8328.

Appointments aren’t necessary if you drop off documents Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., and don’t need to speak to anyone.

In-Person and Virtual Appointment Hours
8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday

Phone Hours
7 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Additional online options continue to be available to you. Use the LACERS’ Secure Document Upload found at lacers.org/secure-document-upload to submit forms or required documents, visit the LACERS website at LACERS.org to obtain benefits information; log onto your MyLACERS account at https://mylacers.lacers.org to view your account details; and visit the LACERS’ YouTube channel at youtube.com/@lacersofficial where you can find a wealth of benefits videos. Stay up to date on LACERS announcements by checking the website periodically at LACERS.org, contacting LACERS by email at lacers.services@lacers.org, and by phone at (800) 779-8328.

Please be advised that pre-entry metal detector screening requirements are in place at LACERS’ headquarters, and a current government-issued photo identification or City employee badge is required except when attending public meetings of the LACERS Board of Administration. Parking is not available at the building. Paid parking lots, public transit and street parking are available nearby.

Save Your Smile With a Mid-Year Dental Checkup

A dental check-up is important for maintaining good oral and overall healthcare. Poor oral hygiene can lead to tooth decay and gum disease (periodontitis), which, if left untreated, may be associated with risks of other serious health conditions such as stroke, heart disease, and diabetes.

Save your smile. Manage your health. Schedule your mid-year check-up with your dentist today. For more information on dental exams and services, visit deltadentalins.com or contact your dental insurance provider at:

Are You Paying for Something You no Longer Need?

LACERS Members near retirement should consider cancelling this one voluntary program — the Family Death Benefit Plan (FDBP). Oftentimes, employees elect to participate in the FDBP plan early in their City career due to having a young family, dependent parent and/or not qualifying for other survivorship benefits due to an insufficient amount of service credit. As Members move further along in their career, these criteria may not exist, and cancelling the FDBP should be considered.

Furthermore, although Members may be eligible for additional benefits depending on their years of service credit, FDBP cannot be paid in conjunction with a Service Retirement Survivorship or Deferred Service Retirement Survivorship.

When to Cancel?
Members should cancel FDBP when they:
– No longer have young children and/or dependent parents; and
– Qualify for either a Service Retirement Survivorship or Deferred Service Retirement Survivorship.

How to Cancel?
Cancelling is easy. Simply review and complete this FDBP Cancellation Form found at lacers.org/forms and return it to LACERS. If you are not sure if you should consider cancelling FDBP, please call (800) 779-8328 and a LACERS team member will assist you.
