Ann Patricia Seales joined the City of Los Angeles in October 1994. She started her journey with the City at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) as a Police Service Representative (911 Operator). From that position she rose to Instructor. Ann then joined the City Clerk’s Office as a Principal Clerk and reminisces, “I had an awesome opportunity to participate in the City’s electoral process.” After two years at the City Clerk’s Office, she joined the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS).
“As a City Employee for just under a couple months short of 28 years, I had the privilege of working with several departments before retiring in August 2022,” she says “I had short stints at the LADWP and the Harbor Department, however, most of my City career was with LACERS, where I gained my expertise in retirement operations and gained a passion for sharing with City employees the details of the City’s retirement benefits.
“I ended my City career at LACERS, managing the Member Support Section of the Retirement Services Division,” she continues “My passion for all things retirement is what makes being a part of RLACEI exciting. To be able to share with members and potential members the importance of being proactive in our benefits is a challenge I look forward to, and I hope to serve with the same enthusiasm that I brought as an active employee.”
Ann says she comes from a relatively small family comprising of her mom and three siblings. However, she has several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, whom she enjoys mentoring. In addition to helping others, she enjoys traveling. “Thus far, I have traversed four continents and look forward to doing a whole lot more travel in my retirement!”
The RLACEI Board welcomes Ann as our newest member and looks forward to her contributions and service to the City retirement community
