Hal Danowitz retired in 1999 from the Office of the Controller as the Director of Systems. Hal is married and has two stepchildren and three granddaughters.
Hal joined RLACEI as soon as he retired. His desire was to maintain a relationship with his retired friends. During his tenure as a Board member, Hal has made many contributions and currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer.
Hal and his wife, Evelyn, enjoy traveling, and for many years he has shared his travels in a
monthly article in Alive! He and Evelyn also enjoy playing bridge and canasta.
Hal feels that RLACEI is the only organization whose primary goals are to maintain retirement benefits and support retirees. To increase communication and visibility, Hal recalls, that upon joining the Board, “I installed the 800-phone system and set up the first Website.”
