The RLACEI Board congratulates Tom Moutes, who officially won the runoff election for the LACERS Board of Administration as the Commissioner representing Retired City employees. His term began July 1.

A well-known and respected voice among Los Angeles Retirees, Tom brings a wealth of experience and deep institutional knowledge to the role. His victory marks a return to the boardroom, where his commitment to protecting Retiree benefits and transparency is well recognized.

Tom has dedicated much of his career to serving the interests of City employees and Retirees. He previously served as the General Manager of LACERS, where he played a pivotal role in guiding the system through both growth and challenges.

In addition to his leadership at LACERS, Tom has also contributed his expertise as a Board Member for RLACEI and held significant roles with the City’s Deferred Compensation Board, demonstrating a consistent commitment to fiscal responsibility and Retiree advocacy.

Beyond his official titles, Tom has also been a consistent and active communicator with the Retiree community. Through his popular “Protect LACERS” Facebook page, he regularly shares important updates, insights and commentary on policies that affect LACERS and its members. His work simplifying pension issues and encouraging discussion has gained the trust of many City Retirees. As Commissioner, Tom will act as an important advocate for Retired City employees.
